Icon Arts 2009

ICon Arts is an unique event in Romania and Europe. It gathers an international course of contemporary arts, a contest and a concert festival.
ICon Arts is the living proof that Romania can offer a cultural and natural excellent environment, and a lot of possibilities for professional developing. ICon Arts teachers have international fame, and they represent the artists elite.
ICon Arts quest is teaching and educating young people to be better artists and to encourage the audience to be interested in contemporary art. All ICon Arts concerts and shows have free entrance.

ICon Arts location – Sibiu County can be attractive for all kind of tourists. Culturally speaking, the museums and the history monuments offer a great variety of attractions. The main organizers, UCIMR – the Romanian Musicians ” Association of Performers ” Creation and Exces Music, support most of the taxes, offering for more students better chances to participate to a great professional experience, for a low cost.


Academia Primavera

sala-thalia-interior-largePrimavera Academy is willing to become a spacial place where young musicians from all over the world are meeting in Sibiu County to make good music together.

Our goal is to create a festival orchestra of which can play Masterpieces Symphonic Music Of XVIIth, XVIIIth, XIXth and specialy OF XXth century.

Primavera Academy is considering most valuable it’s full orchestra instrument for which we have each year to different Expect Soloists Conductors and as much as possible and various composers, trying to cover a large area stylistic. We intend to promote different solo instruments, in order to assimilate the vast classic music repertoire.

exaudi11 decembrie, ora 19.00, la Teatrului National din Bucuresti: British Council sarbatoreste prin muzica 70 de ani de existenta in Romania, in cadrul unui concert aniversar al grupul britanic EXAUDI. Artistii britanici si ansamblul romanesc de percutie GAME vor colabora pe scena pentru un concert cu adevarat unic.

Exaudi, ‘extraordinarul ansamblu de virtuozi vocali’ dupa cum i-a numit Sunday Times, va sustine un concert extraordinar joi, 11 decembrie, ora 19.00, la sala Amfiteatru a Teatrului National din Bucuresti. Programul va include piese medievale, renascentiste si contemporane, printre care si o prima auditie a piesei Plai-Ground, compusa special de Diana Gheorghiu pentru a marca aniversarea British Council si interpretata impreuna cu ansamblul de percutie Game.


Successful Arts in Contemporary Environment

romania-arts-creativecollaboration-successful-arts-workshop-330xCreative Collaboration is a British Council project in partnership with artists, cultural leaders and creative entrepreneurs across South East Europe and the UK.

The project uses innovative approaches to networking to encourage arts and cultural leaders from different countries and different art forms to talk together, learn from each other and develop new partnerships for effective cross-border working.

Launched in Istanbul last year, with support from the UK’s award-winning theatre group ‘Improbable’, the project is bringing together leading arts professionals to work on the issues that are most important to them such as public space, arts and professional development, social inclusion, cultural leadership and creative cities.

15 December 2006 / NATIONAL MINORITIES DAY

On this occasion it will be launched a new number of “Plural” Cultural Magazine, named “Continentul Romania”. Also, the event includes a traditional meal with culinary specialities.

Between 15.30 – 20.00 you are invited to Auditorium Hall of National Art Museum to watch the ” Etnoritm – european values” show and to participate at the winter fair of national minorities. The event is beeing organised with the help of The Interpretative Union of Romanian Musicians and it will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister, mister Calin Popescu – Tariceanu.

The event is dedicated to Romania’s adhesion to European Union.

24 July – 7 August 2005 / Icon Arts Breaza – 3rd Edition

pr_001In the period 24 July – 7 August 2005, UCIMR supported the proceedings at Breaza of the Icon Arts master class – the first contemporary art event of such complexity in Romania. In a relaxed and, at the same time, animated by the desire to take advantage of the two weeks of class, atmosphere, the 80 participants from Romania, Israel, Belgium and Switzerland have gained experience from meeting with famous names of contemporary art from the whole world, working together to prepare a series of memorable concerts and last, but not least, tied bonds that will continue beyond the temporal boundaries of the event. Teachers from Romania and Spain, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden provided participants the occasion to compare different techniques, writing, performing and teaching.

pr_002UCIMR, EXCES MUSIC partner , sustains promoting of elite contemporary music ensembles through organization of concerts in which young and acknowledged artists participate. Following the concerts sustained by the young artists, a CD was edited containing the best interpretations and compositions played during the festival

3rd October 2004 / Rumor of Sweden – Cultural Swedish days in Romania

pr_042UCIMR, having Exces Music as partner, in collaboration with the organizers, Swedish Institute of Stockholm and Swedish Embassy of Bucharest, have organized a series of concerts in Bucharest and Brasov, with the occasion of Swedish contemporary cultural promoting in Romania. The project, suggestively called Rumor of Sweden, took place between the 2nd an the 15th of October, UCIMR supporting the accomplishing of the musical events from this period. The Fusion Music character concert had as performing artists the duo Ellika & Solo and the famous Swedish quartet Flesh Quartet.
